PAFI is a professional organization where professional pharmacists, Pharmacist Assistants (AA) from all over Indonesia, who are now called Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel (TTK), gather. The history of PAFI is closely related to the history of the Republic of Indonesia, exactly 6 months after the Proclamation of Independence, precisely on February 13, 1946, pharmaceutical experts gathered at the Merdeka Hotel in Yogyakarta, with the result of the meeting being to appoint Mr. Zainal Abidin as Chairman of PAFI for the initial period of PAFI’s establishment. February 13 was later used as the anniversary of the Indonesian Pharmacist Association.
PAFI is the oldest professional organization in Indonesia, the Pharmacist Assistant profession itself was formed before the Pharmacist profession, this happened because during the Dutch colonial government, only Pharmacist Assistant education could be carried out and even its pioneering work had to be educated directly from the land of windmills.
Pharmacy itself comes from the Greek Pharmacon which means Medicine. Pharmacist Assistants are health professionals who are responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and safety of drug use which is a combination of health science and chemistry.
Currently, with the existence of Law no. 36 of 2014 concerning health workers, which initially pafikotapulaupramuka.org members consisted of a combination of high school pharmacy school graduates such as the Pharmacy Assistant School (SAA), Pharmacy High School (SMF), Pharmacy Vocational High School (SMKF) and Pharmacy Diploma Graduates such as D3 Pharmacy, D3 Pharmacy Academy, D3 Anafarna based on the Health Workers Law, the status of high school graduates is no longer a Pharmacy Health Worker but has shifted to become a Pharmacy Technical Personnel Assistant (ATTK). With this shift in status through the PAFI Extraordinary National Conference, ATTK graduates and all Diploma levels remain members of PAFI with the vision Together We Can.
PAFI has a mission to jointly fight illegal drugs, prevent drug abuse and incorrect use of drugs by fostering cooperation, coordination and cooperation with other Health Professional Organizations in order to obtain the highest level of public health, through applicable Professional Standards, Practice Standards, Standard Operating Procedures and upholding morals and codes of ethics.
Dirgahayu PAFI, Happy 73rd Anniversary of the Association of Indonesian Pharmacists, may you be more successful and participate in nation building. https://pafikotapulaupramuka.org
